Carlos Reef is a very shallow reef that separates Carlos Bay from Aransas Bay. There are several fingers that extend out toward Aransas Bay. The shallow areas around the reef may be very good for redfish from late spring through late fall. At the north end of the reef is a channel called the Cape Carlos Dugout. Fish the edges of this channel for trout year round. Look for areas where wind and current may trap bait fish between the fingers.
