East of Brownsville on State Highway 4 is one of the most secluded beach areas on the Texas coast. This area is known as Boca Chica. Where the highway ends, turn north to go to Del Mar Beach. From the end of the highway to the South Padre Island jetties, there is approximately 4. 5 miles of undeveloped Gulf beach.
There are no entrance fees or parking permits required.
