Griffin's Landing or just Griffin's is identified on several old maps. This is probably related to the Curry Settlement or could be another name for the Settlement. It is possible that, as with Murdock’s Landing, this was a point where cargo was offloaded from ships in the Gulf, transported across the island and then shipped to other locations. It is not known who Griffin was but a nearby bit of land jutting into the Laguna Madre is recorded as Griffin’s Point on some old maps.
