The Oso Bay Bridge is a popular wadefishing area. It can be good for trout most of the year. During the winter, cold fronts can quickly drop the temperature in shallow Oso Bay. This can cause large numbers of fish to pass through this narrow channel into Corpus Christi Bay. Access to this area may be restricted at night, and at other times due to its proximity to the entrance of Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. This area is good for wade fishing. Wade fishing can be very rewarding but can also can be dangerous for the inexperienced angler. Watch out for holes, drop-offs, soft bottoms, oyster shells and stingrays.
