The pass at Port Aransas is a natural channel that has existed for many hundreds of years. The current jetties were built between 1906 and 1911. Access to the jetties is free. The North jetty can be reached by taking the jetty boat from Fisherman's Wharf. Both the North and South Jetty are very popular with fishermen and can be good for a large variety of species throughout the year.
